Cloth Upholstery and Woven Fabrics
-
Pillows and loose cushions should
be flipped, rotated and fluffed on a bi-weekly basis
to keep filling materials evenly distributed and allow for even wear.
-
When moving your furniture to
clean or relocating, always lift your upholstered
furniture. Never drag or push furniture to a new
location. This could damage your floor or break
the legs of chairs and sofas.
-
Your upholstery should always be kept
away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture as
fading and discoloration may occur.
-
Never sit on an arm of a chair
or a sofa. This is one of the most common causes of
premature failure. Sitting on the arm of a recliner
can bend the mechanism and permanently damage the action of the chair.
Leather Care and Maintenance
-
With minimal care, your leather
furniture can last a very long time. We strongly recommend
frequent light dusting as dust and soil can be abrasive,
potentially damaging the finish of your leather. Occasional
wiping with a warm and slightly damp clean cloth will
prevent oils and other soil from building up. As easy as it
sounds, this simple maintenance is vital to prolonging the life of your leather furniture.
-
Spots and spills should be blotted up immediately
with a clean absorbent cloth or sponge. Do not rub. If necessary,
use clear, lukewarm water and gently wipe the spill. Dry with a
clean towel and allow to air dry.
-
With stubborn spots and stains use a mild solution of non
-detergent soap (use a soap you would be confident using
on your face) and clear, lukewarm water in a 1:10 solution.
Apply the solution to a clean, damp sponge, then rinse
the area of the spot or stain well and let it air dry
naturally. Always try the cleaning method on a concealed
area first to be certain of colorfastness.
